I came up through customer service before I came up through insurance. I was the person on the other end of the phone when a claim went sideways, when a bill didn't match what someone expected, when a plan didn't cover what they thought it covered. That's where I learned that the policy isn't the product — the conversation is.

I studied psychology in college because I wanted to understand why people make the decisions they make when the stakes are high and the paperwork is intimidating. Twenty-five years later, that's still most of my job: slowing the conversation down, and helping someone see what they're actually choosing between.

I specialize in Medicare and retirement planning. Most of my clients are 65 and older, or about to be — figuring out Initial Enrollment, switching plans during AEP, or coordinating Medicare with Medicaid. I also write life, home, auto, and the long-term-care products that fit specific situations — usually for the same families, because once you trust someone with one thing, it's easier to bring them everything else.

In person, by default.

Most of our first meetings happen at clients' kitchen tables. If you'd rather do it by phone or video, we will. But if you want us in your living room, we drive there.

The first call is free.

A 30-minute consultation, no charge, no obligation. If your situation is straightforward, we'll handle it on the first call. If you'd be better off staying with what you have, I'll tell you so.

Multi-carrier. Always.

We're not captive to any carrier. We shop the market and recommend what fits. If the right answer is "stay with what you have," we'll say so.

Honest about tradeoffs.

If you don't need it, we'll tell you. If you need more than you came for, we'll tell you that too. There is no script.

No follow-up calls you didn't ask for.

If you want us to call you, we will. If you don't, we won't. Inertia and pressure aren't the things that make insurance work for shoreline families.
